Presently, industrial wastewater located in the west site of Arvand Free Zone is draining to the Karun river as treated or pretreated that undoubtedly this issue can be lead to environmental disaster in the largest river of Iran particularly after starting other native industries in region. That is why industrial wastewater transmission of the west site of Arvand Free zone to wastewater plant and treatment plant designing was assigned to Sazabpardazan consulting Engineering company at the purpose of the west site green space irrigation based on agriculture and green space irrigation standard and also by considering wastewater drain standard to the Karoun river in special condition like flood phenomena happening
Investigated choices for industrial wastewater treatment
First choice: Anaerobic lagoons and Aerated lagoons
Second choice: Anaerobic Lagoons and completing mixing activated sludge
Third choice: two-stages activated sludge
Fourth choice: UASB and Activated sludge with extended aeration
Eventually UASB and activated lagoon with extended aeration was selected as better technical and economic choice
