Environment impact Assessment studies of Meymeh and Gourab Dams

Project's Geographical Location: in the scope of Meymeh & Goorab Dams - Ilam Province 
 

Project description:
The Meymeh River basin, is one of the border basin of Iran and Iraq of 163 kilometer length streams of the south heights of KabirKooh Mountain and eventually, along its path is draining into Persian Gulf after passing through Ilam Province, enter Iraq country.
In this plan, Meymeh Dam with perennial adjusting performance and Gourab Dam,
 with storing operation will implemented ,in order to developing optimal operation of Meymeh river's branches  water resources and supplying water to 10700 ha. Potential lands of Dehloran plain.
For conducting Meymeh and Gurab dams, Environmental Impact Assessment studies, an environmental Monitoring plan, (EMP) has been done by using environmental indexes in order to predicting demerit effects of project. Then, physical environment has reviewed and calibrated by considering to innovations and changes after running project comparison with existing condition reports. The potential of environmental impacts of the Meymeh and Gurab dams which are regarding by this consular are presentable as the below:
Predicting significant and sustainable environmental impacts and renewable resources quality conservation
Balancing between developing long- term purposes and the necessity of purpose society taking advantages of development resources, owing to environmental conservation
Applying and Integration environmental standards in executing plans and exploitation of studied dams
Identify the duties of each state organizations due to environment protection
