The Kalghan Chai Dam is one of clay dam type with the height of 52 meter which will constructed on the Kalghan chai river. This dam will be capable to adjusting 22.6 million cubic meter of river's water. Water demand of developing plan supply by a pipeline of 4470 meter length and 1200 milli meter diameter from dam
The main plan's purpose is maximum utilizing of water and soil resources of Kalghan chai river in order to improve and develop agriculture activities with the breadth of 2600 ha. supplying 50 liter per second of demand water of environment is another purpose of plan as well.
The sub purposes of plan, are including of helping to Sefid rood catchment basin, region's groundwater layer also helping to stabilization rural population
The following reviewing have been conducting to environmental Impact assessment of Kalghan Chai Irrigation network and Dam
Infrastructure implementations that trigger to destroy and changing environment consist of embankment vegetation cutting, drilling and exploding , supply lending resources, road construction, General and service facilities. Changing draining patch, diverting river path, divert tunnel construction , etc
Reviewing pollutants and produce significant wastes as a result of processes and operations in every choices and plan phases consist of air contaminants , industrial sewage , solid wastes , noises and vibrations etc
Checking dangers and events and lack of security related to every choices in plan and recommending phases including exploding , leakage, natural disasters, (flood, earthquake, hurricane) and unexpected cases
