Project Description:

The Maroun watershed is located in the southern ridge of Zagros dynasty and covers parts of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad and Khuzestan provinces. The Maroun River is the main branch of the Maroon Basin from Shoram Mountains located in south of Lordegan and has been formed by joining branches such as Loab, Shur, Charsoq, Saeloh and the night of Liz.
The River of the east Flowing to the west of the basin and tributaries such as Shur and Charas Also receives, it passes from the narrow Takab and enters the Behbahan Dam reservoir and then into the Behbahan plain. After the Behbahan plain and a distance of about 25 km into the regions. It is a low-altitude mountainous in the north of Aghajari and enters the plain of Jayzan, , Then through the path of smaller branches and in Cham Hashem, the river has been followed by the Jarrahi river. This river is located in a wide range of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad Province, City of Yasuj, Dehdasht City and Behbahan city in Khuzestan province. The project aims to organize Maroun River and its branches with emphasis on flood inhibition and fertile land erosion control of this river.
